Band Bio

In June of 1964 the Merry Pranksters, led by the boundary pushing genius Ken Kesey, set off to the east in their psychedelic bus on a journey to tear down the walls of mundane conformity that permeated American society.
Destination...Furthur.

In August of 2011 a freakish collection of uncommon bands, led by the boundary pushing genius Zandergriff Miggs, will head north up the Mississippi river in a psychedelic paddleboat on a journey to tear down the walls of mundane conformity that still inflict American society.
Destination...Furthest.

UncleDuffRecords & Birchwood Sound in association with Helectricart are pleased to present...

*Up the Creek -the Eclectic Music River Test*

(alphabetically)
-The Cosmic Stoners
-Eccentric Arcade
-Let’s Not and Say We Did
-the Parliament of Owls
-Vorpal Queen
-with special guests Massey Ferguson’s Stampeding Heard

This groundbreaking, boat tripping music festival begins Thursday August 4th in New Orleans, Louisiana and climaxes over Labor Day weekend in St. Paul, Minnesota. The bands will be traveling aboard “Furthest” a vintage early 20th century Mississippi river paddleboat that has been restored, updated and painted to rival the bus from which it was inspired. A barge & tug has been leased to follow Furthest and serve as stage.

A rotating assortment of members from the bands will be performing loosely organized jams from the barge while traveling, if just to blow the minds of anyone on or along the river, with five scheduled stops for full riverfront concert events.
Each band will headline one of the stops with the opening act being more collective jamming and hijinks from the other band’s members. The concerts will be on the riverfront with the bands performing from the barge stage.

New Orleans, LA - Thursday 8/4 community jam @ Tipitina’s Uptown
New Orleans, LA - Friday AM 8/5 street parade thru French Quarter to the river.
Baton Rouge, LA - Saturday 8/6 - Let’s Not and Say We Did
Memphis, TN - Saturday 8/13 - Vorpal Queen
St. Louis, MO - Saturday 8/20 - Eccentric Arcade
Quad Cities, IA/IL - Saturday 8/27 - The Cosmic Stoners

"After this weekend, St. Paul will never be the same. I'm pretty sure all the rocking has changed the physical properties of the surrounding area. I'm fairly certain I saw a Pinto turn into a Ferrari during The Cosmic Stoners' set last night. Tonight will be no different. We're not stopping until every piece of bread in the area is toasted. - Eccentric Arcade"

"That's how you do it, St. Louis! Hands down one of our best shows, and hands down one of the greatest experiences we've ever had the pleasure and the honor to be a part of. We can't thank Zander enough for inviting us to take part in Up The Creek. We hope this tour never ends! - Eccentric Arcade"
