Cherry Vendetta is a kickass throwback to the Riot Grrrls of days gone by like L7, Bikini Kill, Bratmobile et al.
Band Lead Eve "Cherry" Locaine started things off by singing angry music at a party during a massively indecent public breakup, pushing over the dude who was singing and basically taking things over.
A few other angry grrrls were inspired by Cherry's actions and soon she was joined by Jenna "Bombe" Kauffman on bass and backup vocals, Adrienne "Maraschino" Jackson on lead guitar, and Jane "Muffin" Morris on drums.
Their sweet beats and delicious jams will leave you screaming for more. Come discover punk all over again with Cherry Vendetta.

Cherry and co have outdone themselves, pouring on the aggression with a healthy dose of vodka and smoke. After some rest and time to reflect, Cherry sat her ass down at a table and wrote and wrote until her eyes turned black. She was like a woman possessed, wanting to pour out all the vile, putrid hate in her heart and use it to create some visceral, intense music. This is not an album to listen to around your mother. Not for the faint of heart. Listen with caution. This is not the Cherry Vendetta you've heard before. This is something new. Something... angrier. Feast upon the saucy morsels laid before you. A Year in the Life Of...

Tracks: 14 Going from nobodies to the last word in riot grrrl rock, Cherry Vendetta has certainly had an interesting year - especially the last few months. It is time to reveal the truth - Cherry has been so cranky and much more vocal about her hatred of Billy lately because they had hooked up a few times during the April Fool's Ball tour, "For Old Times' Sake" a.k.a. both were horny and drunk. Cherry ended up pregnant, and of course, Billy called her everything under the book and insisted it wasn't his. Much as she wished that were true, it wasn't. Cherry behaved. She had stopped drinking, smoking, everything. It was making her extra pissy and cranky but man - it was creating some incredible music. Bombe, Mara, and Muffin were ready to support her through it and do whatever was necessary. But Mara ended up disappearing for a while, absorbed in her romantic endeavors with Jerry from The Chosen Rejects. Bombe booked herself into rehab for a while when she realized that it was killing her to not drink just because Cherry wasn't. Muffin went on walkabout to "find herself" but ended up in a cornfield somewhere, unsure of how she got there and definitely stranger than she was before. Cherry and Billy encountered each other at a bar one night, a fight ensued, and she ended up miscarrying their child. Instead of feeling sorry for herself it made her angrier, tougher. She poured more energy into this album than she has put into anything in her life - so much so that it landed her straight in the hospital, amid rumors of her having an overdose or alcohol poisoning. The final contribution on this album, a cover of Dinosaur Junior's "Get Me", was Cherry's very deliberate choice and a special message to the man who has put her through so much misery in the past little while. To the rumormongers and the friends of Billy, we say FUCK YOU. To our fans, we say THANK YOU. Here is a year in the life of Cherry Vendetta. |

We scraped together enough coin for a new amp and mic since Cherry kicked the shit out of her previous gear, and she sounds bigger, badder, and bitchier on this new single. She gives voice to everything that's been going on the past while, and then some. Enjoy us, bitches, unless you feel like you've bitten off more than you can chew. Would definitely hang out across the pond again. The Brits are crazy fuckers which is right up our alley and they really appreciate Cherry's angry sweltering performances. Booze, bros, and barbiturates can be a great recipe for music. Thanks to TCR, and to the UK, we'll never be the same. Fuckin' hell. |
