Band Bio
Sisters of the soulless, depraved sort, Marguerite and Antoinette have been part of the Goth & Industrial Scene for some time. Marguerite was a DJ at Club Soda, and Antoinette was a bar wench. One night they stayed late and made beautiful and mind-devouring music together, and they haven't looked back since.
Teuthology: That department of zoölogy which relates to cephalopods.
Marguerite: Fantastic vocalist and dynamic industrial/folk musician.
Antoinette: Saucy minx, vocals, violin, various instruments.
Recently Marguerite has been plagued by drug problems which she eventually managed to overcome with the help of her partner Antoinette. The result of this struggle was their cathartic album, "Wreckage". Marguerite says this in many ways felt like a magnum opus to her, and everything after this will just be icing. Antoinette agrees.
Antoinette then faced her own devils, as outlined in their joint project with Lucifer & the Long Pigs, "Within/Without Screwtape's Grasp".
Recovered, revamped, retuned, rejuvenated, returning to record some more.
Love to the fans. Always. All ways.
Note: As of April 1, 2012, Squidbitchez is currently on tour. No, that isn't a joke.

Banshee
Date Released: 1/27/2012
Tracks: 12 After a long and greatly-needed hiatus, Antoinette & Marguerite are back with a mythical, haunting release. Voices aged by all they've been through, the girls seem more creature than woman, and we dare you not to be pulled into their lyrical webs. Stripping the music to the bare bones of things, the duo has returned to their roots and set tracks to folkloric tunes as well as club mixes. From Siren all the way to the title track, Banshee, the ebbs and flows of this oceanic adventure are sure to rock you in ways unfathomable. Antoinette would like to dedicate this album to her new heroes, Lucifer & the Long Pigs. Without them, she would be lost. Marguerite would like to dedicate this album to everyone who believed in them. They are both grateful for everything they've accomplished. This is the Squidbitchez rising up from the wreckage of their lives, emerging triumphant, and ready to captivate you all. |

Within Screwtape's Grasp Pt. 1
Date Released: 7/20/2011
Tracks: 16 After Marguerite's meltdown, the girls needed rest. They crossed the ocean to find it in a small town with a rather bloody history. They felt they would be fit to do as they pleased and get some well-earned respite. All of the rumors about the town they were staying in were true, and then some. It was beautiful and alluring and inspiring. Folks were friendly but guarded around them, which should have been the first clue. Haunted sounds would come calling them at night. It sounded like the ocean crying, then a woman screaming, then silence. Utter silence. The two would go to the local pub and hear whispers of what was lurking beneath the surface of the quaint village. Antoinette took to fiddling out tunes to amuse herself and other patrons. She didn't know, ok? *They* didn't know! Marguerite would wake up in the night to hear the viola screeching out ear-splitting music. Antoinette would not respond to her pleas to stop. After all that Marguerite had been through, she was helpless to return the favor and bring Antoinette out of her stupor. She feared her friend was going mad... Marguerite called others for help, but at first they didn't believe her. Accused her of being on drugs again, making things up. One night, she entered Antoinette's room and wept in fear - noises, shadows, things she could not comprehend. How on earth could she fix this? Who on earth would help her? There was but one choice. (continued in "Without Screwtape's Grasp Pt. 2" by Lucifer and the Long Pigs. Get it to have the complete tale in 2 discs.) |

Meltdown (Single)
Date Released: 3/11/2011
Tracks: 2 Found in archives, put to music. Maggie backstage screaming and tearing at her clothes, her hair, her face, begging me for drugs. I am weeping and I can't get her to snap out of it. Jerry Lucifer and co. are there and he grabs her and shoves her head into a sink of cold water. The show is over. That is our song. The Horror show - that is Jerry's song. The sound samples seem like they come from a horror film, and the terrifying thing is they aren't - it's Maggie and she won't stop screaming... |

Wreckage
Date Released: 1/20/2011
Tracks: 12 After a harrowing journey for us through Marguerite's downward spiral into drugs and eventual rehabilitation, here comes a collection that is almost autobiographical in nature. Antoinette's viola starts us down the haunting path with the first track, and Marguerite's voice is chilling during "Skin and Bones". This album was a labor of the most bittersweet nature. We are still reeling from it and are proud of everything we've accomplished here. We hope you enjoy. |

Teuthology
Date Released: 10/22/2010
Tracks: 13 Coming at the heels of their hit debut album "Tales from the Psych Ward" comes "Teuthology", a series of industrial shanties and forlorn forays into the dark deep waters of music and matter. Featuring a cover of "Mexican Moon" and a re-release of "Ink Stains" from their Oceanic Taint EP, this album left Marguerite and Antoinette gasping by the end, and they hope it does the same for you. |
