Band Bio
Pusher and the Agua Netz have been serving up their wild degenerate party to fans across the country in the Excess Express Tour this fall and as the tour continues they are turning their stop in the Twin Cities on Dec 21 into a tribute to long time local legends Gunshot Love.
In the early morning hours of June 23 2009, a car being driven by Agua Netz drummer, Woody Hammer, struck a guard rail traveling northbound on State Hwy 61 just north of St. Paul. The car was totaled and Hammer lost his left arm. Timothy Archer, his passenger on that fateful night, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Archer was the bass player in Gunshot Love, a fixture on the Twin Cities scene. His death threw his band mates a debilitating blow, spelling the end of Gunshot Love. Frontman Billy Pilgrim was quoted "Gunshot without Tim? I can't even see it. It's not even worth discussing. Gunshot Love was the three of us and with out Tim...well...without Tim, Gunshot Love doesn't exist."
The tragedy is enlarged by the fact that Archer was quite the "man about town", rumored to have more ladies on speed dial than "Cheatah" Woods, and his death left numerous children fatherless.
Enter the Excess Express.
Hammer has been battling his own demons since the crash, but his friendship with Archer and his deep sense of guilt over the incident have caused him to focus on a way to some how make it a little easier for those left behind.
Rikki Snake, frontman for Pusher, on tour with the Netz suggested a tribute show to raise money for all of Archer's kids, and with the 'Express' pulling into Minneapolis in December, it seemed the logical venue for the show.
On December 21, at First Avenue in Minneapolis, the Excess Express, along with former Gunshot Love members Billy Pilgrim and Winston Smith as well as a reunion of the band They Might Know (which included all three Gunshot's and a young Zandergriff Miggs among others) will spend the evening playing songs from the Gunshot catalog and a variety of covers from other local bands that Archer has been a part of.
Please join us for this memorable night by becoming a fan of "Shot Full of Love!" and "the Excess Express". To make further donations to the cause, please go to the Gunshot Love page and purchase copies of their two studio albums which are now being re-issued by UncleDuffRecords.
