Zeroth + Kemia Release "Mars, Bringer Of War" Cover Single

Long Bong Records - Zeroth has been using a section of Holst's "Mars, Bringer Of War" to transition from Kemia during their EU Portals dates. Based on the strong fan response, the bands hit the studio to record a full-on cover of the entire piece. The result is a prog-metal masterpiece; bringing heaviness to the classical structure while still maintaining the dynamics and nuances of the original. Pick up a copy today:

Chernobyl

Date Released: 3/18/2010   Tracks: 6
Sales: 5   Listens: 4

Kemia release the fourth installment in their continuing evolution 'Chernobyl'. While not a true concept album, the 6 tracks all clearly share common inspiration in the post-apocalyptic wasteland of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. Kemia's trademark grind blends with eerie ambient noise [including samples recorded on-site], resulting in a drone masterwork. Once again showing the strong ties between Kemia and Zeroth, guitarist Dan Hughes guests on "Palinopsia", adding extra structure and heft.

Feral Bloom

Date Released: 2/17/2010   Tracks: 7
Sales: 7   Listens: 6

Dronesters Kemia are back with their third release, 'Feral Bloom'. Kemia simultaneously succeed in building on their obvious strengths while pushing the sonic envelope. As on their previous releases, they display a mastery of metallic grind and moody atmosphere. However, they also show a softer side, case in point the closer "Adrift" which could easily be the soundtrack to a ship or an astronaut floating away into sweet oblivion. Another solid effort from an ever-intriguing band.

A Thousand Dark Ends

Date Released: 11/19/2009   Tracks: 6
Sales: 7   Listens: 8

Kemia's second effort 'A Thousand Dark Ends', picks up where 'Stillness In The Abattoir' left off. Kemia masterfully blend atonal noise with metal riffing and ambient effects, creating powerfully-moving mood music.

Stillness In The Abattoir

Date Released: 11/12/2009   Tracks: 6
Sales: 4   Listens: 4

On their debut 'Stillness In The Abattoir', drone metal newcomers Kemia paint dramatic soundscapes of distorted, churning guitars, industrial tones and eerie ambient noise. As is typical with this genre, song structures are extremely loose, if non-existent, and the intent is creation of mood rather than any particular direction or movement. In lesser hands, this openness could become a muddled mess, but Kemia bring just enough focus and power, and deliver an oustanding debut.
