KARKASS will pummel your noggin' with the shreaking buzz of the darkest recesses of diseased decomposition. Forged in the sooty back rooms of some nameless industrial hamlet north of London, the band began as a tool for picking up the dark little nihilist chicks that cruised the vampire hot spots.
While they may have failed in that endeavor, it was apparent that their music was catching on quickly among the Saturday night regulars at Electrowerks.
Decomposition, is more than just a section of the death/birth cycle - it is how KARKASS' music is made. They start by writing and recording their stereotypical retro metal songs, then the interesting stuff happens. Tracks are destroyed. Feedback and noise and guitar screams are laid over the top. The levels are distorted beyond limits (somewhere past the mellow hug of analog distortion but before the clipping of digital.) Words, grunts, shouts and wails are painted on with reckless abandon.
The finished product is like no other sound, in metal, or on Earth. It is painful in a way that lets you know your mind and soul still reside within the confines of their mortal coil.
KARKASS will tear your sanity to shreds and leave you clutching at the ragged filaments of what's left behind.

Wargasm

Tracks: 11 The black and rotting putrid stench of de-composition is heavy in your nostrils and heavier on your ears. Wargasm is Karkass, doing what they do best. Great, familiar sounding, vintage British Metal completely destroyed, decayed and then built back up with howling-feedback-screeching-noise bombs. Let your head bang of it's own accord. Be sure to step away from the wall, lest yours be the corpse carried out next... |
