Band Bio
When it comes time to understand the pull of music, most people just let it drift by. Some people never attempt to harness the power. They never try to yield the force of music. But that is them. We are us. Diversions at the Cinema has a picture of their future. It's theirs.
Founded by Valery Kirkpatrick, the music began. As a promising student in the musical arts, Kirkpatrick spent most of her early childhood dreaming of her own music... her own band. In time, she blossomed into a talented vocalist with a sizzling forte on the bass. Still harboring a desire for stardom, Kirkpatrick sought out assistance. She found her answer in the form of Lewis Parrish. A humble and quiet child, Parrish himself had ambitions of grandeur. Learning guitar from modern heroes and a studious father, Parrish grew into the subtle guitarist that is hard to live with but impossible to live without. Upon joining Valery Kirkpatrick, he naturally took a liking to his colleague which, as it persisted unchecked, became a hindrance to the musical dream. He left the band for a year soul-searching. Never to disappoint, he left his younger brother in his place. As time progressed, his presence was needed and was cajoled back into the band. He forced his brother, Wesley Parrish, into percussion and resumed his job as guitarist and Valery Kirkpatrick's constant thorn. The troika eventually stumbled upon Rick Hastings, a talented pianist and yin to Lewis' yang. They settled in Seattle to start the musical dream. Upon signing with 8755th Street Café Records, they now have the path to perfection set in front of them. And they're prepared to take the power.
