What if you woke up one morning and all the adults had died fighting in a nuclear war?
What if the sky was eternally gray, and radioactive ash fell like snow?
What if you found a working spacecraft and escaped your wretched, glowing ball?
Children of a Nuclear Winter lived it, after the atomic annihilation of civilization on their planet in the Andromeda Galaxy. After many years of struggle, they discovered a way off their planet and drifted through space, crash landing on Earth. After assimilating into the Swiss population and learning human instruments, they launched Children of a Nuclear Winter as a warning cry to our own civilization.
Equal parts Porcupine Tree and Celldweller, CoaNW's compositions range from melancholy acoustic passages to grinding, furious guitars to drum'n'bass-inspired breakdowns. Combining multiple genres, they hope to attract as large a following as possible to spread their message before their second home ends up like their first.

Married To The Machine
Date Released: 10/21/2010
Tracks: 7 Children of a Nuclear Winter's second album sees them taking a step back into history. Long an eco-friendly society, their planet found their downfall shortly after giving in to the quick comforts of mechanization. It only seems fitting, then, that they relay their history while flexing their industrial metal influences, offsetting acoustic and ambient interludes with jarring electronics and distorted rhythms. The grind-influenced "R(e)aping The Harvest" finds the band at their heaviest to date. |

After The Bomb
Date Released: 6/14/2009
Tracks: 8 "After The Bomb" begins the Children of a Nuclear Winter saga. On an otherwise normal night, the silence was pierced by the klaxon of air raid sirens. In the morning, only the children woke up. Only a hardy, self-sufficient few were able to survive the coming years until they escaped their destroyed planet. As a warning parable, the band fictionalized their history to better match Earth civilization. |
