Band Bio
"Kill everyone," "wholesale slaughter," those are the meanings of the band name. And that's exactly what they deliver. Uncompromising, "Engrish" gore-obsessed lyrics that make Takashi Miike films look like Walt Disney, meat grinder guitar riffs that refuse to relent till the crowds' bones are dust, solos that they obviously sold their souls to "Rushifaa" for, and ripping, roaring, growling death vocals: This five piece from Osaka is set to kill us all.
Though once believed to be a dead project following a mishap onstage that lead to an outright breakup of the band in 2004, this year marks the 10th anniversary of the band's original formation in 1999, and in celebration the members of the original lineup (Kazuya Akuma - Vocals, DIEsuke - lead guitar, Kaonashi - rhythm guitar, Genji Suzuki - bass guitar, Kaneichi Harada - drums) have officially announced their reformation!
"Very pleased to be assu-kicking, mouichidou ne," vocalist Kazuya stated in the band's official press release. "Japan missed usu. World missed usu. Sou, we had to do thisu. It was... waruin da ne, sono go, I mean, the breakup. Eto... Now we feel like, 'This is time!! ATTACKU!' and will do our best."
The band, nicknamed "MG" by their affectionate fans, recently released a brand new studio album, TOKYO HARUMAGEDDON, to the surprise of many, after vanishing off the charts following their internal issues. This was followed by a US tour, a first for the band... which was promptly followed by their deportation from the U.S. this last year and their descent into rather typical band squabbling and a flurry of "I quit!" "You can't quit, you're fired!" mishaps which again seemed destined to destroy the newly resurrected band, they have been regrouping, prepping a new album even... Or so the rumors say... Correspondents sent to meet with them for updates failed to report back. As such, it is unsure if they have gone off the deep end for good, or if the new material is just that "Killer." Ahem.
2010 may well be the year of DEATH. J-Death that is, and that is what MG is king of.

I Am Death Alive
Date Released: 7/21/2009
Tracks: 13 MG's second full-length studio album is infamous among J-Death fans because of its change in direction. Backing off a bit on the all-out grindfests of tremolo picked guitar playing and blast beat drum infernos, the songs on this album are strangely melodic with elements of J-pop. Vocalist Akuma even sings his vocals on some tracks! However, It still tackles standard MG themes of death and horrific mutilation. The combination makes for an extremely eerie sortie into a different side of the band. |

Shinjuku Death Moon
Date Released: 6/16/2009
Tracks: 13 Originally released in 2001 as MG's first studio album, AfterHours Records Tokyo is pleased to let this back out of the vault. However, this is far from a reissue. With the band's original lineup back together, they re-tracked the entire album as part of "getting backu in synku" with where they once where. Instead of the low quality, "Karaoke Box" quality of the original, this version is as polished as possible, and as evil and bloody as ever. The album that defined classic J-Death is reborn! |

Tokyo Harumageddon
Date Released: 5/13/2009
Tracks: 10 After 5 years, a new album appears from the Osaka five piece J-Death band MINAGOROSHI! And it packs a megaton-load of furious riffs, vitriolic, evil "Engrish" lyrics, subdual bass lines, and fierce, spasm-inducing blast beats. The growth of the band is quite apparent in the technical displays of musicianship on this album, especially lead guitarist DIEsuke's copious solos and Harada's frenetic drumming. Its epic scope of death and horror is sure to please both longtime and new coming fans. |
