AibohphobiA
Date Released: 11/18/2010
Tracks: 11 Obsidian Paradox's latest release 'AibohphobiA' [the fear of palindromes] consists of 11 tracks inspired by the palindromes that serve as their titles. Pushing beyond the conventions of progressive metal, OP embrace new age soundscapes ["Do Geese See God?"], dissonant jazz-metal ["I Prefer Pi"], thrash ["Deified"] and doom sludge ["Devil Never Even Lived"]. The crowning achievement is the epic title track/closer "AibohphobiA", featuring cyclical/reversing riffs and sinuous changes in rhythm. |

Systema
Date Released: 5/12/2010
Tracks: 9 Following a long period of silence, prog-metallers Obsidian Paradox release 'Systema'. Featuring 9 finely-crafted tunes, replete with metronome-busting changes in tempo and meter, it's obvious where the time went. The band is in top form throughout, but the grinding, industrial-tinged title track and the eerily magnificent "Perfect Funeral Drum" are the two highlights. OP take a page from fellow LBR artists Kemia's book, with the atmospheric droning closer "Dense Afterthought". |

Static Psychosis
Date Released: 9/18/2009
Tracks: 9 Obsidian Paradox are back with their latest release 'Static Psychosis', once again probing into the dark corners of the human condition. Pairing weighty subject matter with complex math-metal, OP turn in another powerful effort. From the dissonant noise of the opener/title track, to the eerie feedback manipulation that ends the closer "Beyond Delirium", OP display masterful chops as they take the listener on a rollercoaster ride of rapid tempo changes and emotion. |

Neurotic Reflex
Date Released: 6/15/2009
Tracks: 8 Hot on the heels of their outstanding performance at the Merchants Of Metal Festival, Obsidian Paradox are back with their second full-length 'Neurotic Reflex'. Once again, showing that Zeroth are not alone in delivering top-notch math-metal, OP unleash eight complex and commanding tracks. Highlights include the explosive opener "Neurotic Reflex", the fast-changing "Perpetual Prodigal", and the two mood pieces; "Fragile Killer" and "Tribulation". |

Obsidian Paradox
Date Released: 5/7/2009
Tracks: 9 Long Bong Records is clearly hoping lighting will strike twice with their latest math-metal discovery, Obsidian Paradox. Hot on the heels of the success of Zeroth, Obsidian Paradox's self-titled debut ups the ante for complex, left-brain metal music. Whereas Zeroth focuses on pseudo-scientific/-mathematical concepts for their subject matter, OP delves deeper in the psyche and establish a dark Zen feel. "Apocalypse Serpentine" and "Black Crescent" are the clear highlights of this fine debut. |
