Burbank, CA birthed these torn jean and spandex wearing lads in the early 80's. Their first musical memories consist of watching Matt Pinfield's Headbangers Ball from their "Pack-n-Plays". These images of lipstick, big hair and codpieces imprinted on their brains and when they all met up in high school it was merely a matter of time before the 5 would join up and start glamming.
They had been playing to middling crowds on the "Strip" for a couple years when a chance encounter with a touring Zandergriff Miggs earned them their first record deal. Zander saw in them the raw energy of youth and the retro mid 80's style that is quickly coming into vogue again. He jumped to sign them before the 80's revival hit full swing.
Agua Netz sound is pure glam rock hair metal. Chunky chords, flashy drums, shout along chorus's and anthemic love ballads...all mixed in with the appropriate amount of lipstick, big hair and macho braggadio.
Agua Netz are:
Shane Capulet-vocals & mic stand
Tornado Turnpike-lead guitar
Duff Montague-bass guitar
Stevie St. Stevens-rhythm guitar & Yamaha DX7
Woody Hammer-drums, percussion & gong

The hottest hair metal tour on the planet just got a bit hotter with the announcement of their plan to throw a Gunshot Love Tribute Show in Minneapolis, MN on December 21, 2009. The tribute show will be a benefit for the children of Timothy Archer, Gunshot's long time bassist who was killed in a car crash back in June of this year. Woody Hammer, drummer for Agua Netz, was driving the car and issued this statement.
Tim was one of my closest friends and not a day doesn't go by that I don't miss him and regret what happened that night. We shared a lot of great times and I feel a responsibility to do right by him and his family. Tim was never married, but he has a lot of kids. You know, many ports in a storm, all of that, but anyway...all the proceeds from the show will go to his kids.

Many of these songs were first heard at the festival and featured here are a couple live versions, including the classic "(If You Won't) Holly Would" Tease that hair, squeeze into your spandex & make sure your zippo's full! |
