Band Bio
Ex-Bassist Angelica Duon of Sanguine Symphony started her own band. They're called Dying Unholy. Their sound is very akin to Sanguine Symphony, but with Duon's female vocals lending a whole new tone to their screams.
Angelica Duon had always been a woman who could get what she wanted; being totally hot was just a bonus. Dying Unholy was born when she got tired of playing in Sanguine Symphony, the screamo band started by Forgotten Falling front man Hayden Frasco. Angelica claimed that Sanguine Symphony's music was geared too much towards boys and not girls. Yes, it was lie, but it was easier than saying "I don't want to play screamo." Angelica wanted something heavier, and she realized it before Hayden Frasco did.
Dying Unholy was formed. Members were recruited quickly (Who didn't want a chance to jam with a hot chick?). Angelica wanted something heavier, but that was a generally broad description. Each album sounded different, with different amounts of progressive, death, and power metal influences. Then Angelica started dating Jacob Wolfman from Werewolf Concerto.
The fourth album, Anastasia, had a thrash-inspired sound and was Dying Unholy's best selling album to date. Angelica Duon served on the Aphelion tour as a replacement bass player for Coffin Lords, and is going to serve as a bass and backup vocals assistant for Manta Rey in Antigoon open air 2011.
After Antigoon, drummer Jack Debussiria left to fully commit to his other band Whispers to the Fallen. The drummer slot was filled by Mike "Marauder" Vargas.
The spotlight is on Angelica all the time. But hey; if you play in a band with a really hot front woman, no one knows your name. Just ask the members of Blondie, Arch Enemy, Flyleaf, or The Agonist.
Vocals/Bass- Angelica Duon
Guitar- Santiago Perozo
Guitar- Ethan Trappe
Drums- Mike "Marauder" Vargas
INFLUENCES: Deadlock, A Skylit Drive, Arch Enemy, Bring Me the Horizon, Light This City, System Divide,
SOUND: Overdriven bass, 7-string guitar playing, and blasting drums are brutally delivered. Vocals are growled and screamed with brutal force, and singing is designed to contrast with the harsh vocals. Odd-time signatures are used to shock and groove grindier songs along. Production is used to contain the fury.
LYRICAL THEMES: Politics, social issues, love, warfare.

Anastasia
Date Released: 11/28/2010
Tracks: 12 After Angelica's tour of duty on the Aphelion tour, the new Dying Unholy album has released. Her boyfriend, Jacob Wolfman of Werewolf Concerto, has assisted with many tracks as well. Overall, "Anastasia" has a very thrash-inspired sound mixing with the usual hardcore. The odd time signature blasts are still here in tracks like "Slayed to Death" while clean guitar-driven melodies show their faces on tracks like "Your Silence Haunts (Me)" and the ethereal closer "Still Life." |

Eden Going Under
Date Released: 6/24/2010
Tracks: 10 Where has Dying Unholy been? Frontwoman Angelica Duon's not telling, but the long inactive band (so people thought) is launching themselves back into the spotlight with their newest thrashing hardcore epic. Eden Going Under capitalizes on Dying Unholy's more melodic sound, but puts the emphasis back on odd time signatures, creating a blend of groove metal rhythms, prog metal melodies, and hardcore brutality. |

It's Our Choice
Date Released: 11/18/2009
Tracks: 11 It took many arguments, a long time, and the act of joining forces with Jack Debussiria of Whispers to the Fallen , but Dying Unholy are back with a sophomore album. Here they trade their odd time signatures and song structures in favor of overdriven bass, echoey guitars, and an overall crushing yet melodic sound. Leaked rumors suggest that some songs on here are about medical controversies. |

Specterum
Date Released: 4/21/2009
Tracks: 4 The first EP from Dying Unholy, probably launched to compete with Sanguine Symphony's growing popularity. Think of it what you will, but it packs some punch. |
|
Reflection
Date Released: 4/17/2009
Tracks: 11 The debut album from ex-Sanguine Symphony bass player fronted band Dying Unholy. Traces of Sanguine Symphony's screamo sound are here, but Angelica Duon goes more for a straight up hardcore/power metal sound on Reflection. |
