DeathBreth
Ridiculously heavy... and technicalGenre Death Metal Band Created 4/7/2009 Total Sales 142
Band Bio
The hardest of the hardest Technical Death Metal from Luxembourg. Their sound is tight, but it may be hard for the less hardcore crowd to digest. Their live shows can only be described as all-out warfare. You have been warned.
It was a cold winter day in Suleuania (It was wedged between Luxembourg and France). Three friends decided to rock. They were outstanding at their instruments (That would be an understatement) but the singer Chainsaw couldn't sing at all. He was angry, so he started screaming. Thus, DeathBreth's sound was born.
Oh, and they got a Rhythm guitarist thanks to the lack of backup at live shows.
In the early days, the sound relied on shock value in the Cannibal Corpse-inspired lyrics and pure noise due to riffless tremolo picked guitar parts, but as the band grew their sound took on a tighter sound more akin to technical death metal fused with metalcore and thrash.
INFLUENCES: Decapitated, Sylosis, Vader, Bloodbath, Unearth, Intestine Baalism, Allegaeon, Cannibal Corpse, As I Lay Dying, Chimaira.
SOUND: Crunchy low-tuned guitars, blasting, meaty drums, and crunchy bass. Vocals are grunted or growled, and are treated with heavy echo. On later albums, baritone clean vocals were incorporated. The style also gradually shifted from death metal to technical death metal by the fourth album.
LYRICAL THEMES: Gore, mutilation, martyrdom, F.E.A.R. (An Angel Scorned album only), zombies, honor, and revenge.

Fortress
Date Released: 6/4/2011
Tracks: 9 DeathBreth has strayed far from their roots. In preparation for the summer, they drop the clean vocals and release their most brutal album ever. Fortress is technical, brutal, and completely relentless as song after song assaults you without mercy. Chainsaw's brutal vocals tear through the entire album as Jacknife and Harbinger rip meat-grinder riffs while Dümlaut charges forward like an engine of war. |

Horrific Demise
Date Released: 11/7/2010
Tracks: 14 DeathBreth's 10th album is the most brutal yet lyrics-wise. Melody is reserved for serious tracks such as the soaring "A Farewell to False Gods." Tracks like "Bludgeoned" follow the classic DeathBreth formula of grunted vocals, raw, syncopated riffs, and blast-beat assaults. A highlight is the multi-part epic "Surgeon with Homicidal Intent." Balancing technicality and brutality masterfully, the song was influenced by the horror movies the band watched with Werewolf Concerto on tour. |

All Life Sleeps
Date Released: 8/13/2010
Tracks: 10 Do not be fooled by the oddly tranquil cover, for before any storm is the calm. And this is the calm before the storm that is All Life Sleeps. Lyrical subject matter is more varied than usual. "Impale the Sky" is about how building massive skyscrapers and massive industrialization will destroy the world, while "Demon Semen" is quite self-explanatory. |

The Broken Hour
Date Released: 5/2/2010
Tracks: 10 It's been forever, and DeathBreth has been largely silent. But now they're back, and with a vengeance. Enter "The Broken Hour" the band's 7th studio album. They go darker and heavier (Is that even possible?!?) than they did on "The Eyes of the Dragon", but they retain the melodic harmonies and massive choruses that made it a success. They even take a swing at a slow-tempo all-clean-vocals power ballad: "The Lies That Bind" about singer Chainsaw's recent relationship. |
|
V: The Eyes of The Dragon
Date Released: 1/19/2010
Tracks: 12 Your ears aren't clogged. Your brain isn't damaged. DeathBreth actually sings on this album. Chainsaw's secret vocal lessons have paid off, and he's back with a powerful, deep voice... and more signature death growls. The signature DeathBreth thunderous blast beats, lightning guitars, and chunky bass also return. Plus, DeathBreth's series of signature "Pain" singles return! (For all the DeathBreth fans desiring something more akin to the old sound.) |

All That Lies Still
Date Released: 12/6/2009
Tracks: 10 Here it is: DeathBreth has produced a highly technical, tighter-than-a-choker album. The songs are as brutal as ever, and DeathBreth has dabbled in piano, a choir, and even accordion. However, they STILL haven't let up on trying to crush the listener under their furious metalcore. Features a heavier, tighter, remaster of their successful single "Waking the Witch" with Miyako Rey of the Forgotten Falling singing the female vocal parts and helping on an insane 2nd solo. She also sings the cover. |
|
Waking the Witch (Single)
Date Released: 11/30/2009
Tracks: 1 This is Deathbreth's new single, Waking the Witch. If you're a Deathbreth fan you already know what it sounds like. |
|
Beauty in Destruction
Date Released: 10/19/2009
Tracks: 10 DeathBreth has returned with a fourth album. There is no end to their relentless deathcore assault, as evident by their latest album. They try a few half time bridges, and some organ riffs, but besides that they haven't changed. |
|
Chokehold
Date Released: 6/22/2009
Tracks: 10 Deathbreth's third album continues with raw aggression. What else? Not much. They're bad; they're aggressive; they're DeathBreth. |
|
An Angel Scorned
Date Released: 5/13/2009
Tracks: 12 The second full length album by DeathBreth is a massively more ambitious attempt than their debut. The metalers try to give more form to their songs, even breaking out a few acoustic riffs. The last song is simply an instrumental acoustic. Make no mistake, this is still undeniably DeathBreth. Not a single lyric is actually sung during the entire album. (That's not to say some aren't simply spoken or shouted.) It's still only for the hardest of the hardcore, it just has tighter riffage. |

The Death EP
Date Released: 4/13/2009
Tracks: 6 DeathBreth, being in a furious energetic rage form their last release, were hungry to release a new EP. So, here it is. The band's signature ultra-heavy metal sound is back in full-force, if not amplified. Do not play while your grandmother is home. |
|
Raaaargh!
