Band Bio

A Northern-Russian Gothic Metal Band that aims to mix screamed vocals, blast beats, and shred guitars with an overall Gothic-fantasy theme.

One day, a Russian juvenile delinquent named Dmitri Oskolov had been kicked out of school. This had happened on account of the fact that he liked to burn public places, especially those of religious significance. Before the police could bring him to prison, he changed his name to "Vladimir Sokolovich" temporarily to hide under cover.

Dmitri was simply a misguided, illegitimate child of a single mother and (**The father is unknown. Some say it was Satan, others say he simply spawned**). He had a dream, though: To start the best, darkest, gothiest death/black metal band the world had ever seen.

He wasted no time looking for members. His friend Virgil Levli, A.K.A. his arson partner, played a mean solo and rocked fangs... NATURAL fangs. Together they hunted Siberia for a drummer and found Jack Debussiria at the airport. Later that same day, at the same airport, the three bumped into Miyako Rey and Malcolm Smith. Miyako was coming back to Russia for vacation from boarding school in Japan, and Malcolm Smith had been sent from England to Russia to join some band that needed a bass player on account of some program.

After some minutes of discussion, a band was formed. Practices were carried out in Virgil's garage. Some locals occasionally watched the band, but none were record producers.

As fate would have it, Dmitri was walking back from burning down a church when he crossed paths with the soon-to-be president of Fallen Records.

Two months later, Tokyo "tour".

One year later, album.

However, as of recently, Malcolm Smith and Miyako Rey are with The Forgotten Falling. Virgil remained a solitary guitarist, but the bass was taken up by Seth Rodney of Sanguine Symphony.

After the critically acclaimed eponymous album, a classically trained vocalist and guitarist named Tanya Yolenko was hired. The band had been working with her as a session guitarist for a few months, and had grown to like her haunting soprano clean vocals alongside Dmitri's shrieks and deeper cleans. She joined full time as a backup guitarist and clean vocalist.

INFLUENCES: Cradle of Filth, Mors Principium Est, Nightwish, The Black Dahlia Murder, Children of Bodom, Evanescence, Dir en grey.

SOUND: Sharply distorted technical guitar playing, and heavy drums that usually grind or blast. Vocals are usually delivered in a high-pitched shriek, a low growl, or clean, haunting melodies. Programmed violins, organ, and choirs are incorporated. Solos are technical and echoey.

LYRICAL THEMES: Murder, fantasy romance, suicide, blood.

Inferno

Date Released: 9/21/2012   Tracks: 12
Sales: 11   Listens: 21

Whispers To The Fallen has been absent from the metal scene for quite some time. The band that headlined the Tour Of Terror II and The Erotik Necrotik Tour fell off the radar after the release of White Widow, which displayed the talents of newcomer Tanya Yolenko. Dmitri announced the hiatus before he took to the road with the newly reformed Slutwitch, but it was then he realized that 9 albums and countless tours worldwide had done a number on his vocal chords. Was Dmitri losing his ability to shriek, as was his signature? If the band's latest, Inferno, is the answer, when hell freezes over. Helmed by Dmitri's piercing shrieks and Tanya's haunting, sultry vocals, Inferno is more ambitious and massive in scope than anything Whispers has ever attempted before. A full symphony is brought to the table, seamlessly joining the furiously paced guitars and charging, pounding drums. The sound is colossal, bombastic, and over-the-top. Virgil has never played faster, as if he's determined to prove to Miyako Rey that he can out-shred an entire symphony just as well as she can, while Tanya contributes some fiery solos of her own for the first time. A major lineup change has also occurred. Seth Rodney and longtime drummer Jack Debussiria have retired from bass and drums, respectively. Taking over on bass is newcomer Aleksei Korkurov, and on drums is Ivan Drevski. A keyboardist has also been introduced in Irina Petralova. Inferno is a massive, symphonic, over-the-top, haunting magnum opus of gothic extreme metal, long overdue. _____________________________________ Written and produced by Whispers to the Fallen Recorded by Whispers to the Fallen Mixed by Jacob Wolfman Demonic piercing wails- Dmitri Oskolov Satanic 6-stringed rage- Virgil Levli Immaculate siren, the second stringstress- Tanya Yolenko Thunderous 4-string fury- Aleksei Korkurov Unrelenting warmachine- Ivan Drevski Haunting moonlight melody- Irina Petralova Fallen Records

White Widow

Date Released: 4/30/2011   Tracks: 10
Sales: 12   Listens: 25

White Widow is a bit of a rebirth for WTTF. First off, there's Tanya, who's haunting voice and rock-solid rhythm riffing back up Dmitri's screams and Virgil's shredding perfectly. With Jack Debussiria once again fully committing to the band, the percussion is heavier than an anvil straight out of hell. All this is great in and of itself, but once applied to punishing tracks like "Teutonic Supremacy" and the title track, you'd better run for cover.

Whispers to the Fallen

Date Released: 8/17/2010   Tracks: 12
Sales: 12   Listens: 26

The eighth album from Whispers to the Fallen is exactly what it sounds like. Afterall, it bears the band´s haunting name alone. The songs will creep inside your head and make you want to scream. Whether from enjoyment or dementia, that is your decision. This album has a melodic Black Metal vibe to it, due to the ominous organ riffs and Dmitri Oskolov's signature throat-destroying shrieks.

Bloodsplitten

Date Released: 4/17/2010   Tracks: 11
Sales: 7   Listens: 19

The seventh album from Whispers returns to the sound of some of the early albums. "'Confessions' was really emotional and serious," Guitarist Virgil Levli comments, "This one is just heavy and in your face, not to mention it's faster and there's more shredding." Includes the demos released on the last single, now in the form of finished songs, of course.

Suicide Bride- Single

Date Released: 4/1/2010   Tracks: 4
Sales: 8   Listens: 13

The successful single from the album "Confessions". Also includes a few demos from the upcoming album. According to Whispers frontman Dmitri Oskolov, the new album is "A lot less emotionally heavy-handed than 'Confessions' was" and "More like our earlier stuff; just pure goth melodic death metal. Overall, it's gonna be just more fun."

Confessions

Date Released: 3/3/2010   Tracks: 10
Sales: 11   Listens: 21

The sixth album from Whispers to the Fallen. They turn it up with all the right licks, shrieks, and clothing to match... again. Nothing's so different that you'll hate it, but it's undergone a few slight changes. "It's the sixth album," Dmitri says, "By this point, it's evolve or fade away." The changes are noticeable in a more doom-metalesque sound, with a larger emphasis on Dmitri's clean vocals than his equally creepy death growls. ((Track 9 is pronounced CLOHS rather than CLOZE))

Shatter

Date Released: 1/13/2010   Tracks: 12
Sales: 19   Listens: 35

The highly anticipated fifth album from Whispers to the Fallen... and they're not pulling any punches. "We were the first band to sign to Fallen Records" said frontman Dmitri Oskolov, "And we're showing the world why!" "With or without Malcolm," added guitarist Virgil Levli. The sound can only be described as a symphony of licks, thunderous drums, and falsetto notes and haunting melodies vs. brutal death shrieks, as all the while the D minor Aeolian and Phrygian modes dominate your ears.

Walking With Spirits

Date Released: 11/7/2009   Tracks: 10
Sales: 13   Listens: 18

The first Whispers to the Fallen album lacking Miyako Rey, but Virgil Levli makes up for her absence by soloing twice as long and prerecording all of the rhythm parts. It's taken a long time, but they're finally back with more of the same.

The War

Date Released: 6/16/2009   Tracks: 11
Sales: 7   Listens: 10

This is Whispers to the Fallen's third album. This is also their most ambitious. The songs are dark, aggressive, and creepy, seething with gothic angst and the power of metal. The symphonic riffage will have you worshiping the whispers in no time. Vengeance is the new Through the Fire and the Flames. This is The War.
