Band Bio

Stalker Channing was born Greta von Schluchtaagen in Kienholz, a small town in Switzerland near the German border. She spent most of her childhood roaming the countryside with her vagabond family of traveling cabaret performers. At the Universitat Hamburg she fell under the spell of Punk rock and began slumming the streets with various neopunk wanna-be's. By her mid twenties, feeling washed up and burned out she moved to Canada with her then lover Hanz Openschut. They settled in Thunder Bay, Ontario and found a home among the local bohemian music community. After a few years of mild success playing bass for "Slot", Hanz OD'ed on some fungus growing on the Canadian prairie grass. Distraught and alone, Greta snuck across the U.S. border in the B.W.C.A. and headed South to Minneapolis where she met Zandergriff Miggs at the Turf Club. This chance meeting led to a torrid affair which, in turn led to Miggs paying for phony documents that list her as an American named Stalker Channing.

And thus she was born anew.

Channing began singing back-up vocals with "Zandergriff Miggs & the Parliament of Owls" and quickly became a fan favorite. Zander, with ever the nose for talent began writing material specifically for her to sing and it was soon apparent that she needed her own forum where she could be her own star.

And thus another chapter.

Now, Stalker Channing sings throaty, sweaty love songs with a flair for the dramatic. She is backed by various members of the "Owls" and some times appears on stage with just herself and Zandergriff on mini-moog.

And the crowd cried out for more...

Tyger Shark

Date Released: 4/3/2009   Tracks: 6
Sales: 7   Listens: 9

Where her debut was sparse & stark in arrangement this EP is full of electricity and the vital forces of new found power. With the exception of the opening accapella of "Tyger Shark" the tunes are more fleshed out musically with an unexpected sonic attack. Recorded live-no overdubs. The Owls lay a tight backdrop for Stalker's smokey vocal stylings which seem to indemnify her past. Recorded, mixed, mastered & produced by Z. Miggs for Uncle Duff Records 2009

Tyger! Tyger! Burning Bright is about transformation. It is one woman's journey through the grief of loss. Stalker Channing made that journey and was reborn in the flames.
