Married To The Machine by Children of a Nuclear Winter
Date Released 10/21/2010 Sales 14 Listens 25
Children of a Nuclear Winter's second album sees them taking a step back into history. Long an eco-friendly society, their planet found their downfall shortly after giving in to the quick comforts of mechanization. It only seems fitting, then, that they relay their history while flexing their industrial metal influences, offsetting acoustic and ambient interludes with jarring electronics and distorted rhythms. The grind-influenced "R(e)aping The Harvest" finds the band at their heaviest to date.

"What can I say that hasn't already been said about this album? After an almost year and a half hiatus, Children of a Nuclear Winter are back with a devastating new album. The songs are fantastic-particularly "R(e)aping The Harvest" and "Delivering Eden Into The Furnace"-and the artwork is great. It's a nice throwback to old school album art, and like Hoseman said you can actually see the work that went into creating it. I've been waiting for the Children to return, and they did NOT disappoint! "
frizbee"Not many folks see me without my tophat, but my hat is off to this grand album!
CoaNW have delivered a gem with this release. A great cover (which, unlike a lot of albums released lately, is easy to see the design work involved) A cool story with great song titles, all fitting superbly with the theme/context of the band and album. The 'Children' are really starting to grow on me!

"Excellent cover! I only wish I could get a closer look at it!"
poppinfresh"They're back! And better than ever. Wow, this cover reminds me of something Hipgnosis might have done back in the day. It's a clever premise for an album, especially from a band that doesn't flex it's industrial metal muscles as much as it's prog-metal leanings, but with songs like "Military-Complex Wedding March" and "R(e)aping The Harvest", it will likely become a favorite of listeners in both camps."
