bendertj"The first release from The Black and Pink Checkers is like a bag of trail mix. A little salty, a lot of sweet and full of crunchy guitar goodness to get you where you need to go. The Hot Topic crowd will surely fall in love with tracks like Your Voice and This Is Your Anthem. But for all the pink haired punk fun that fills these 13 tracks, the astute listener will pay special attention to A Way Out and the head bob inducing Honey I'm Searchin'. Use your influences kids. This band is no Sex Pistols, but let's face it those guys were more facade than rock band anyway, instead Black and Pink Checkers unload their angst in the form of harmony-laden hooks. Songs like "Pretty in Punk", "Black Rain" and "This Is Your Anthem" aren't going to make the Fugazi crowd happy, but it will unite legions of young kids who like their bite chased with a bit of sugar."
