On 'Tachyon', prog-metal masters Zeroth once again display astounding chops and wide-ranging reading habits, pairing complex math-metal with astrophysics and quantum mechanics. Standouts include "Sidereus Nuncius" [Starry Messenger], the high-speed thrash of the aptly-titled tracks "Tachyon" and "Superluminal", and the previously-released single "Physalis-Turbulence". The playful instrumental "Schrödinger's Cat" is a genuine surprise; displaying a previously-unheard whimsical side to Zeroth.

"Subliminally...perhaps, but it was track 8 that inspired Z & Q to create an album cover and theme a while back. "
theHoseman"I only have one word for this entire album: AWESOMENESS!!!"
Tyman"Zeroth's Tachyon is like 'Songs in the Key of the Black Hole'. Every superstring is in tune."
Hypnox"Other than "Cat", I don't understand a single word on this album, but not bad!"
TMTYTF"What can I say that hasn't been said already. I've loved Zeroth since their inception and this album speaks volumes as to why. Totally diggin' the instrumental - is the cat still alive? is it dead? don't open the box!
But Buy this album!"
"I have to admit I sometimes find Zeroth to be hit or miss. I guess it's just that sometimes prog-metal comes off as too technical and aloof to me. Having said that, I agree w/ the reviewers below. This is in many ways a perfect album. The artwork and song titles all tell a story and perfectly fit the overall story behind this band. In fact, you can almost hear the music being played. My only piece of advice would be to work on the album description a bit more. Otherwise, it's perfection. "
Eric"Charged with the task of finding a more artful way of expressing a love for the scientific than is displayed on this album, one would undoubtedly fail. All ten tracks are phenomenal, and if you don't understand the titles, lyrics or anything else about "Tachyon," look it up. Everything -- and I do mean EVERYTHING -- has a purpose to it and a reference behind it and, as a result, the music and the math behind it is beautiful. Do not miss this one."
JoshTheRadioDude"I gotta say, I was intimidated by this album at first. Hell, I wasn't even sure I could correctly pronounce the title of it, let alone of the ten songs on it. So I won't lie, I used Google to look up the song titles and damn if the story behind it all didn't emerge. I love it, I wasn't just hearing this album I was learning from it. So don't be intimidated or put off, take the time and delve into this one...it's a journey worth taking. "
rikki"InsideStonerRock.com - Zeroth's latest 'Tachyon' may well go down as the ultimate prog-metal album. This record has it all: rhythms that alternate from labyrinthine in complexity, to breakneck in tempo, to sinuous and slithery; high-art lyrics that span abstract scientific concepts; and of course, Zeroth's impeccable musicianship. This is clearly intended to be one of those records that slowly unfold to the listener over time. The complexity and majesty of this record is simply staggering."
