Six tracks. Fifty-seven minutes. A dizzying array of riffs and polyrhythms. Zeroth. LBR's math metal titans are back at it on their latest release 'Portals', once more pushing the boundaries of mind-bending metal to the extreme. Perhaps most striking is their blending of traditional Indian Rajasthan styles with left-brain metal on the epic 13-minute "Gyananakashu" [Indian for "the eye of knowledge"]. That experience alone makes 'Portals' worth the price of admission.

"First it made me sick, then it made me bang my head... then it made me believe."
ChildofAlma"I'm not even gonna lie, I bought "Portals" because of vaguelyhumanoids incredible review."
Eric"Gyananakashu is, quite frankly, a masterpiece-blending spastic guitar shrieks & modal bass noodling with a raga-inspired Sanskrit chant backed by exotic cymbal-crashing timpani-laced 8/2 rhythms before descending into utter chaos. Wormhole opens "Portals" with crashing dissonance rolling through 3 uneasy movements, and the simmering aggressive pulse of the closer ends with a drone that also begins the whole journey, reflecting the artwork by having us come back out were we started. 5 stars."
vaguelyhumanoid"What a spectacular release! LBR has many crazy acts, but Zeroth are the pinnacle of the labels pyramid. For those of us that wondered all through Jr. High."Why do we need to learn this algebra crap?!", Portals shows us the answer that our teachers could never articulate. This disc is full of way out there rhythmacological nastiness...it forces us to think...to strain our brains to comprehend what "K" is doing with just 4 limbs. I say "Buy this now!" "
