Eclipse by Zeroth
Date Released 6/23/2009 Sales 8 Listens 10
Zeroth are back, unleashing a torrent of mind-blowing math metal on 'Eclipse'. The aptly-named opener "Vortex" is a twisting labyrinth of shifting tempos and swirling guitars. "Supernova Canticle" has to be one of the most outrageously complex pieces of music ever recorded. Then there's the crowning glory: the epic 18-minute "Eclipse" suite will surely go down as a career-defining performance for Zeroth. What would a Zeroth album be without a cover: Rush is given the nod with "Cygnus X-1".

"Ion Coil...bitch...Ion Coil! Love this record."
rikki"I'm momentarily left speechless...(momentarily). Zeroth have shown once again why they are THE band in their genre. Others may do intriguing work, but all are chasing Zeroth. "Eclipse" gives us a pinnacle to peer down amongst the ether and I can't see how this effort can ever be topped. (though somehow I'm sure Zeroth will find a way!) "Terminal Zenith" & "Supernova Canticle" take some digestion, but the effort is worth it. The "Eclipse" suite? There is nothing I can say that does it justice! "
