"One of the best black metal albums ever"
bmick14"This is what black metal is supposed to sound like. The album starts off hard, heavy and melodic and ends like a fly, buzzing around your head: the sound is comforting but you aren't sure if it is going to bite you or not. But it bites and bites hard."
missbellatrixx"I'm not much into the cover, but Bloody kisses is the best to me. "
Savage"So grim, which makes this a work of ART."
ElectricWizardFan"The name says it all"
Shack"Sounds like a winner"
robselect"I listened to This Album then got grounded
"
"I had no idea "Feast on the Bowels of My Enemies" was a ballad."
BangerBen"The apocolyptic hysteria that gripped the world in 1999 cannot be blamed on Y2K...it was the beginning of something great known as Darkling. Traumatic Insemination was just the beginning and only a few lucky souls got to revel in it's rage. Thankfully, the rest of us get to suffer as well. Once Into The Nothing sounds just as vital and burning today as it did then. "
overground"This album has a special place in my heart. After many hard times in college and wanting to just get away, I, too became addicted to chips. I was not only addicted to potato chips, but Doritos as well. When times got tough I simply put on 'in the halls of UNL' and I immediately felt better knowing someone else was having a hard time, too. Darkling has helped me out of my addiction and prevented any major relapse. We all have times of weakness, thank you Darkling!"
jennyb48"I had this one on vinyl, but I was excited to see the re-release. Once into the Nothing sounded better than ever after the digital enhancement, and you can hear the bile hitting the floor on Feast on the Bowels of My Enemies. A classic album that belongs on everyone's virtual iPod."
theDogg"Wine and women are not the only things that get better with age. Darkling can now be added to that list. 'Traumatic Insemination' is about as enjoyable as watching bed bugs mate. As the last, anguished screams of 'Feast on the Bowels of My Enemies' faded, I was left feeling as if my ears had been violently raped. The one high point of the CD was 'In the Halls of UNL;' the lead singer's disdain for the institution shone through the dark comfort of familiarity provided by the low tone of the bass."
bsman"I remember going on camping trips with my family. We'd roast marshmallows and hot dogs, but the trip would never be complete without everyone joining in to sing "Bloody Kisses" and "Hate is Life" Traumatic Insemination really brought my family together!"
CamHig"Come to think of it, maybe that's what lead to my own "Traumatic Insemination"..."
KarBear"I remember sitting in the back seat of my boyfriend's car making out to Feast on the Bowels of My Enemies. Listening to this album again brought back those wonderful memories."
KarBear"I remember seeing Darkling on their first tour. As I watched Tim spitting out cheese nip shards as he sang "Feast on the Bowels of My Enemies" you could see the guy already had a monkey on his back. And when Animal slit his wrist to spray the audience on "Tasting Their Own Blood", well, you can't buy those kind of memories."
higman"Just in time for summer, Darkling's recently re-released first album "Traumatic Insemination", is just the breath of fresh air I've been looking forward to all winter. This collection of 7 bouncy, sunny, happy pop songs will keep you whistling all day as you drive in your car with the windows rolled down. Whether it's the opening track "Raze Them To The Ground" or the final track, "Feast on the Bowels of My Enemies", Traumatic Insemination is fun for the whole family! "
