fibonacci epoch by Zeroth

Date Released 3/23/2009       Sales 16       Listens 18

Pronouncing the band's name [it's zir-auth], is likely the least complex aspect of their Long Bong Records debut, fibonacci epoch [sic]. These guys take a cerebral approach to their metal, with complex time signatures [7/4, 9/8, 13/4 and more] and liberal use of polyrhythms. This is thinking-man's music for sure. Highlights include "Hydroclysm", "Devious Emotion", and an inspired reworking of Tool's Fibonacci-influenced "Lateralus" which closes the album.

"When I first heard it, I got a massive headache. When I listened to it again, I loved it."

"Leonardo of Pisa would be proud! This album is the Golden Ratio to the nth power...phi. 89, 144, 233, 377, 610, 987...It's all here, if you know where to look. I say a great big 1/89th to Zeroth for this release!"

theHoseman

"Also love how the artwork fits the album title and concept so well!"

Eric

"Love this album. It's prog rock to the core. Hell it's prog rock crossed w/ math rock. In short, it's way over my head, but it makes me feel smarter when I'm listening to it. Love the artwork, the band name, the song titles, the whole package! Well done! Buy this album!"
